The 4 Marks
One mark of the Catholic Church: One
The Church is one for three reasons: first, because of its source, the Holy Trinity, which is a perfect unity of three divine persons — Father, Son, and Holy Spirit; second, because of its founder, Jesus Christ, who came to reconcile all mankind through the blood of the cross; and third, because of its "soul," the Holy Spirit, who dwells in the souls of the faithful, who unites all believers into one communion of believers, and who guides them.
One mark of the Catholic Church: Holy
The Church is sanctified by Christ, and the Church is sanctified by Christ through and with Him. Our Lord pours out abundant graces, especially via the sacraments, through the ministry of the Church and the power of the Holy Spirit. As a result, the Church is a visible manifestation of holiness through its teaching, prayer and worship, and good acts.
One mark of the Catholic Church: Catholic
Catholic literally means universal. This is very important to the church in the way that it represents the church as a whole. The Church is made to spread the word of God and act as a place of worship for anyone. The Church is open to all and will let anyone inside and help anyone who needs it. That is why you can see the Catholic church anywhere in any corner of the world. The Catholic Church has come to represent all peoples and acts not just as a holy place but also as a home.
One mark of the Catholic Church: Apostolic
The Catholic Church is apostolic because of its founders. The Church is Apostolic in the way that it was started by the Apostles at the Pentateuch. The Church teaches what was taught to those 12 apostles. There is an unbroken lineage leading back to the 12 apostles and the start of the Church.
